In spring 2012, Dresden, the capital city of Saxony, is again going to host elbMUN, its own version of the Model United Nations. For the third time, approximately 200 students from Germany, Europe, and all over the world are spending April 17th to 21st 2012 in Dresden, gathering in the State Parliament of Saxony to participate in this simulation.
Dresden offers far more to discover than just an extraordinary conference venue. After a stressful day discussing and working on resolutions there are plenty of options to spend the evening. Either if you are keen on getting together in one of the many bars and clubs in the Neustadt or if you prefer seeing cultural sights in the historical Altstadt, you will be surprised by the diversity that Dresden presents.
Consequently, the conference itself also has to be outstanding to achieve the aim of an in every respect remarkable event. That requires not only well-prepared participants and a certain quality of the topics discussed – it’s also the Chairperson who plays a major role in the success of the conference. In presiding over the committee debates, the chairperson has to be sensitive for letting parties mark their points and keeping the discussion alive.
elbMUN 2012 is now looking for people who are willing to act as chairperson. In order to qualify, you should already have gained experiences in different MUNs, know how to moderate a debate and you mustable to express yourself in English. Just send a short motivation letter and CV mentioning your MUN experiences to firstname.lastname@example.org (Deadline is December, 20th 2011) and become part of the team.
