The United Nations Association of Slovenia-Youth organizes the “Summer school on the United Nations: Youth competencies for the challenges of the globalized world” – a 3-days youth conference which will be attended by young activists aged between 18 and 30 years. The conference will be organized in Ljubljana between10 and 12 September 2014.
The United Nations Organization covers a broad spectrum of activities that affect the life of every individual. The conference will address various issues from the UN agenda and also various skills that are necessary for young people to effectively address the challenges of the globalized world, such as leadership skills, intercultural negotiations, lobbying. Interactive workshops and debates will be carried out by young professionals and experts with references and expertise in related field of work. The conference aims at young activists, active in youth organizations and non-governmental organizations; therefore the conference will strengthen capacities of youth organizations and NGOs. The project will give the participants knowledge and skills for their future work, but they will also transfer the newly gained knowledge to their organizations and strengthen the organization’s capacities.
