1.What do UNYA and UNA stand for?

UNYA stands for United Nations Youth Association. UNA stands for United Nations Association. Some UNAs have got Youth Sections within their structure.

2. What is UNYANET?

 UNYANET is United Nations Youth Associations Network. It is the international network for UN Youth Associations and youth sections of UN Associations.

3. What objectives does UNYANET have?

The main aim of UNYANET is to faciliate the cooperation between its members. This means developing common projects and exchanging information, knowledge, resources and experience. Furthermore, the objective of UNYANET is to enhance the cooperation between its members, the UN agencies and other international institutions. UNYANET aim is also to assist everybody who is willing to establish UN Youth Association in a country where structure of this kind does not exist.

4. How many members do belong to UNYANET?

Currently UNYANET has 11 member associations. These are United Nations Youth Associations or youth sections of United Nations Associations from Austria, Finland, Germany, Norway, Romania, Russia, Serbia, Slovenia, Spain, Switzerland and Turkey. For more information about members click here.

5. Who are the members of UNYANET?

The members of UNYANET are United Nations Youth Associations or Youth Sections of United Nations Associations.

6. How can my association become a member of UNYANET?

To become a member of UNYANET your association must be a United Nations Youth Association (UNYA) or a Youth Section of a United Nations Association (UNA). If that is the case and your association intends to become a member, it should contact UNYANET Presidency regarding this. You can do it by sending an e-mail to info@unyanet.org

7. What projects are being developed within UNYANET?

The General Assembly of UNYANET established the following four working groups:
a) “Daddy, why do we have war?”
b) Public Relations Workshop
c) “UN and YOU” Youth Camp
d) UNYANET Advice

Projects are mainly developed within these four working groups. Exceptions are possible in case a project does not fit into any of these four working groups.

8. Who is in the Presidency of UNYANET?

9. When and where was UNYANET established?

UNYANET was established on 5th August 2011 at Youth Projects and Cooperation Seminar during a meeting at the United Nations Office in Vienna.

  1. it is really great having the youth together to make meaningful decisions regarding the world. The world is a place for both the old the the young and in no distance time it will be govern or ruled by the youth and the wrong decision by the old will affect the world tomorrow.
