UNA Spain announces the 8th edition of C’MUN, the MUN of Barcelona. After the great success of former editions, C’MUN 2013 is now a reality. The simulation will take place in Barcelona from the 7th to the 10th of May 2013. The participation is open to university students and other interested people from 18 to 30 years old as individuals, pairs or group delegations. The application deadline is 1 March 2013.
Two Model UN (MUN) Workshops are being organized by the United Nations Department of Public Information (UNDPI) this summer. The first will be held from 8–11 July 2013 in partnership with the United Nations Information Service (UNIS) in Vienna and the United Nations Youth and Student Association of Austria (UNYSA-Austria). EuroAsia 2012 and MUNTR 2013 Team in Turkey invite the youth to the 9th annual session of the Model United Nations Turkey 2013 (MUNTR 2013) held at AKKA Hotel Antedon in Kemer, Antalya on 4-8 March 2013. Registrations for the conference are made through the website or the Facebook page.
The Bucharest International Student Model United Nations 2013 Conference will take place at the Palace of Parliament, in Bucharest, Romania, from 20 to 25 March 2013 bringing together approximately 230 participants both from Romania and abroad. The theme of the conference will be “Reshaping diplomacy in a world of continuous change” chosen because of the importance of diplomacy in the social, economic and political development of the 21st century.
Following the great success of the last edition, Model United Nations Mannheim e.V. announces the 4th session of MaMUN. MaMUN 2013 will take place from 12 (Friday) to 14 April (Sunday) 2013 at the University of Mannheim, Germany, which is located in the city’s Baroque palace.
About 120 delegates from Europe and all over the world will get the opportunity to conduct work on the following topics which promise thrilling debates and heated discussions:
– Security Council: Water Scarcity and its Relation to Conflict
– ECOSOC: The Situation in Afghanistan after the Withdrawal of Foreign Troops
– Human Rights Council: Securing the Rights of Indigenous People
– The League of Arab States: Reform of the Charter of the Arab League
It is very important to provide the youth with the opportunity to express their opinions on and suggest solutions to global issues. Model UN is one of the key global projects that allow minors to learn more about international relations and world politics, and additionally, to let their voices to be heard.
On November 1-3, the IV Tyumen International Model UN for High-School Students will be held in the center of Siberia and will gather 150 young people from different Russian cities. The main topics are the same as those currently discussed in the UN Headquarters: the situation in Syria (Russian-speaking Security Council), China-Japan Relations (English-speaking Security Council), and Language Diversity (UNESCO, Russian and English languages). The Futuristic Security Council will challenge the armed conflict between Israel and Iran in December 2012. The delegates have to work in crisis conditions, and the world community will expect the Security Council to resolve the conflict as soon as possible.

UNDPI are organising a MUN workshop in New York City, August 27 to 29 2012. The aim is to provide students who are organising MUNs at university level with a better understanding of the working procedures of the UN. The focus of the workshop is the work of the General Assembly and how it operates:
“The workshop will focus on giving MUN organizers a basic understanding of the General Assembly’s Rules and Procedures, the discussion and action phases of General Assembly Committee meetings, what you need to know when drafting resolutions, the duties and responsibilities of the UN Secretariat and General Assembly officials, and more.”
