UNYANET is currently seeking for volunteers for the following departments/roles:

Please note that all positions are volunteer positions, therefore, non-remunerated.


 

Fundraising Assistants

Tasks: 

  • You will be expected to create a fundraising letter to approach international organizations, public institutions, universities as well as foundations and private sector according to the UNYANET Fundraising Strategy and Action Plan.
  • Coordinate with the Fundraising Team.
  • This is a very flexible and rewarding position for talented, dedicated youth.
  • Great opportunity to build a portfolio of international contacts with relevant economic stakeholders.

Requirements:

  • Highly motivated and meticulous
  • Excellent writting skills
  • Passion for fundraising to contribute to youth-led projects
  • Ability to work well on own initiative
  • Ability to meet deadlines whilst meeting high quality standards
  • Excellent organizational skills
  • Ability to grasp new concepts quickly and to keep up with youth interests and trends
  • Previous experience with United Nations activities is an advantage
  • Recommended but not mandatory background in Business Administration, Economics, Public Relations, Communication, Marketing, Journalism, Political Science, Sociology, International Relations, International Law or Humanities.
  • Fluency in English. Working knowledge of an additional UN language is an advantage.

Secretary/Administrative Assistants

Do you enjoy management, coordination, writing and administrative tasks? Do you want to get a firsthand insight to the work of UNYANET? Do you want to work closely with the Presidency and the Board? Then apply for the position as Secretary!

Tasks:

  • assist the Presidency and Board in their administrative work
  • prepare monthly Members Meetings and organize the follow-up (minutes)
  • draft emails and letters upon request
  • manage documents and archive

Requirements:

  • proficiency in English (oral and written), knowledge of other UN languages is an asset
  • reliability and professionality
  • able to work indepently and well-organized
  • experience with software such as MS Word, Open Office, Google Docs etc
  • interest into administrative tasks
  • related studies (e.g. Administration) or previous experience as Secretary or similar position is an advantage

Translator to French

Tasks:

  • Translating the whole UNYANET webpage into French in reasonable time frame
  • Regular translation of new content being created on UNYANET webpage (news from organizations, call for volunteers, etc.)

Requirements:

  • Highly motivated and meticulous
  • We welcome prior translating experience
  • Fluent knowledge of English and French
  • Excellent organizational skills
  • Responsiveness and ability to translate new content in reasonable time
  • Time availability

Translator to Spanish

Tasks:

  • Translating the whole UNYANET webpage into Spanish in reasonable time frame
  • Regular translation of new content being created on UNYANET webpage (news from organizations, call for volunteers, etc.)

Requirements:

  • Highly motivated and meticulous
  • We welcome prior translating experience
  • Fluent knowledge of English and Spanish
  • Excellent organizational skills
  • Responsiveness and ability to translate new content in reasonable time
  • Time availability

 Journalists/Editors/Bloggers/Writers

The Role: 

  • Working as part of a large network of highly skilled and passionate bloggers, you will be expected to write informative, newsworthy and interesting articles for the blog
  • Article topics must fall under the available subject areas on the blog (international affairs, human rights, sustainable development, intercultural dialogue, conflict management, international conferences, negotiation skills, Model UN, youth) and must be relevant to our global audience
  • We accept all tones of writing: humorous, personal, journalistic, etc. but all articles must be unique and well written
  • This is a very flexible and rewarding position for talented, dedicated, and meticulous bloggers who wish to get their name published on a leading youth international blog, and who want the opportunity to build up their online portfolio
  • Successful bloggers will be promoted within our network of international blogs potentially reaching 20,000+ reads for each article published on UNYANET

Requirements:

  • Highly motivated and meticulous
  • Passion for writing creative
  • Ability to work well on own initiative
  • Ability to meet deadlines whilst meeting high quality standards
  • Excellent organizational skills
  • Knowledge on global affairs is an advantage but not essential
  • Ability to grasp new concepts quickly and to keep up with youth interests and trends
  • Degree in a relevant subject (English, Journalism, Humanities, Political Science, International Relations, Marketing etc.) is preferred but not essential
  • Previous participation in Model UN is an advantage.
  • Language Requirements: Fluency in English. Working knowledge of an additional UN language is an advantage.
