The International Institute for Educational Planning (IIEP) believes that in order to achieve long-lasting stability in a country and boost development, youth have to be included in policy and planning processes. As part of our approach to understanding how this can best be achieved, the IIEP Plan With Youth Team has collected information about various initiatives targeting youth in three specific areas: peacebuilding, civic engagement and transition from school to work. It now comprises more than 200 projects in more than 50 countries. On 24 October we celebrate United Nations Day to mark the anniversary of the entry into force of the UN Charter in 1945. Since then, the UN has made a difference in many of our lives. Promoting peace and Human Rights, fighting poverty and climate change, helping refugees and working for education are only few examples. Here are 60 ways the UN makes a difference. We want to know from you: What difference does the UN make in YOUR life? Tell us! And help us celebrate United Nations Day 2013. Happy #UNday !
Honna Marttila, PR Officer of UNYANET, and Daniel Hardegger, President of UNYANET, are working on an article for the new blog about the media work of the UN. To do so, they need your help. They created a questionnaire to find out where you get your news about the UN and what do think about to get the news about the UN on social media like facebook or Twitter. It takes about 5 to 10 minutes to fill out the questionnaire and will help very much.
You can find the questionnaire here: https://docs.google.com/
